The Bardo Performing Arts Center at Western Carolina University is bringing magician Mike Super to campus on May 1 from 3-5 pm. This is part of the Galaxy of Stars Series of 2015-2016 held there.

Super  is the winner of NBC’s Phenomenon series and finalist in America’s Got Talent. He redefines magic  and it’s “more than just illusions, it’s a journey featuring laughter, intrigue, danger, fear, and wonder that will [give the crowd] a whole new attitude toward magic,” writes the WCU’s Bardo center on the event calendar.

His life has been characterized by an obsession and passion for magic. He has astonished millions of people with his craft, including the Hollywood elite. Mike Super has performed for Ellen DeGeneres, Jay Leno, Kenny Chesney, Criss Angel, and many others.

According to his biography, “Mike’s ever-growing popularity has garnered him many prestigious awards and honors, including being the only magician in history to win a LIVE magic competition on prime-time US network television in 2007. In addition, his other accomplishments include being named Entertainer of the Year, Best Performing Artist of the Year, Best Novelty Performer of the Year AND he was voted America’s Favorite Mystifier on NBC’s hit TV Show PHENOMENON.”

“The secret to Mike’s success is his natural ability to entertain and fascinate people. He has pioneered a new form of magic with his own inimitable, down-to-earth style and personality,” written right off the biography on his website.

“Magicians and Illusionist have always drawn a huge crowd when presented at the Bardo Arts Center,” said Paul Lormand, theatre manager and director of Bardo Arts Center.
Lormand’s expectation for the event is that they sell out and hopes that children and parents of all ages will attend.

The acts are very popular with a college crowd and will be an afternoon of entertainment.
