Western Carolina bounced back huge from last week’s lost to Chattanooga. The Cats came out of the gates swinging and led Furman 31-3 at halftime.

Steffon Hill, WCU wide receiver, and Detrez Newsome, running back for WCU, also contributed in big ways to the win on Saturday. Newsome rushed for a whopping 184 yards, while Hill had caught ten passes for 130 yards. Hill had two total touchdowns, which included a huge 36-yard touchdown catch and a 2-yard run for a touchdown.

With this win Western Carolina ended the season undefeated at home (5-0).

Next week the Cats go on the road to face the Texas A&M Aggies in Texas.
