Night of acrobat acts and magic at Bardo

The organizations of Arts and Cultural Events(ACE) brought the high – flying and magical acts of the Golden Dragon Acrobats to WCU Sept. 9 in the Bardo Arts Center.
The group performed daring acts along with expressing the beauty of the Chinese culture through their clothing and props. The acrobats transitioned from high- flying acts to balancing objects and unified stunts.

An even mixture of over 300 WCU students, faculty  and residents in the community seemed to  enjoy the show and spoke of being impressed.

Stress Management and Health professor, Lisa Hilgers says, ” The performance was amazing. I don’t recall seeing anything like this.”

Parents along with their children exited the show with laughter and excitement in their faces.

“The audience was amazed by the intense and awe-inspiring stunts and the company enjoyed performing for WCU,”Arts and Cultural Coordinator, Maven Mayfield said.

After the show, the acrobats sold merchandise relating to Chinese culture to the audience.

The Department of Campus Activities and Assistant Director for Campus Programs, Francis Ortiz- Pineda planned this event and has many more in store for the school year. ACE will present a comedy show for homecoming week with sixth season winner of NBC’s last comic standing, Iliza Shlesinger.
