A candlelight vigil was held Friday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. in the center of WCU’s campus for the three students that were murdered at UNC Chapel Hill.

There were around 60 people in attendance including university professors, community members, and students, both American and International.

Students and faculty gathered around the Catafountain in a circle with lit candles and were able to share how they felt about the tragic events that took place on Feb. 10.

Western’s Student Government Association and the Office of Intercultural Affairs arranged the vigil and held an open discussion after the vigil for others that wanted to continue to discuss how tragic events can be avoided.
