Lady Catamounts are looking to win their third game in a row. They are traveling down to Birmingham, Ala., to take on the Samford Bulldogs this Saturday, Feb. 8.

Tipoff is at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on Power 90.5 FM.

The Cats (11-11, 5-6 Southern) had a big win against the Wofford Terriers on Monday, while the Bulldogs (6-16, 4-7 Southern) are trying to bounce back after a horrifying loss to the Davidson Wildcats.

Lindsey Simpson is looking to capitalize on an excellent performance scoring 18 points on Monday, to lead the charge for a hopeful win against the struggling Bulldogs.

“Samford makes things difficult, especially on the defensive end of the floor. They run the Princeton offense which has a lot of screens away from the ball, and back door cuts. Western has to step up again as they did when they played Samford at home holding them to 50 points,” Kyle Rush, the play-by-play analyst for the Lady Catamounts, said.

The team is ready to play offensive but making sure the defense is strong.

“We beat Samford in Ramsey a few weeks ago, but they are definitely a better team at home. To win, we will have to really focus on our defense, rebounding, and keep playing as a team,” Hana Haden, senior guard for the Cats, explaining how the team plans to keep up their winning streak going into Birmingham against Samford.
