“Zombies on Campus! A Slaughterpocalypse!” is a zombie comedy opening on Wed. Nov. 13.

Written and directed by Western Carolina University’s own D.V. Caitlyn, “Zombies on Campus!” is written as a play-within-a-play. In this case, the play is William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and the opening scene has the audience watching students rehearse as zombies begin their assault on campus.

This unique play is a different kind of experience for the audience.

“The audience may be handed something, spoken to, or experience other interactions,” Caitlyn said. “The play is meant to change the world one laugh at a time.”

The cast consists of 33 members including: zombies, three featured “undead”, violinists and ensemble members.

Caitlyn recently released a trailer of the upcoming play via YouTube.

“Zombies on Campus! A Slaughterpocalypse!” will be held in the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center between Nov. 13 and Nov. 19. Each show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Faculty, staff, student and senior citizen tickets are available for $10. Student tickets purchased in advance are available for $7. Adult tickets can be purchased for $15. Tickets are available online or at the Performing Arts Center box office. The box office phone number is (828) 227-2479.
