Around 7:30 p.m. hundreds of students gathered around the university’s central plaza for music, free pizza and giveaways.

“I believe that this really shows the true spirit of WCU students. This gets us really pumped up for the game on Saturday,” said Uju Nwador, a student.

Included in the celebration was the naming of the 2013 Homecoming Court and the weeks superlative winners such as the most spirited dorm and the winner of the most spirited campus organization, which went to Last Minute Productions, a campus entertainment group

Students and alumni alike joined each other in cheering on the Cats and sending the football team good vibes as they prepare to take on the Elon Phoenix, Oct. 26, at E.J. Whitmire Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
