New Bids on the Block

Pi Kappa Phi, is a new fraternity that is trying to established a chapter and join the WCU Greek community.

“We want Pi Kappa Phi to come to Western Carolina University to give the men who aren’t in a fraternity a chance to be a part of the most unique fraternity in the country”, says Brad Anders, Pi Kappa Phi National Leadership Consultant.

Anders said that they decided to come to WCU because there was a group of men who couldn’t find a right fraternity for them.

“I chose Pi Kapp because I was given the opportunity to make it something that I wanted it to be”, says Philip Jackson, a Western student and a new member of Pi Kappa Phi.

Pi Kappa Phi is the only fraternity that owns and operates their own community service based organization, Push America, which serves people with disabilities.

The men of Pi Kappa Phi have really appreciated their warm welcome into catamount country. “The campus and organizations have been very helpful in our efforts to get this started, mostly in helping us acclimate to the campus”, says Anders.
